How to prepare for your bathroom or kitchen consultation

    By the Renolist team · Oct 28, 2026 · 1 min read

A little preparation turns a consultation into a useful one. These eight steps take about fifteen minutes and help you leave with clear answers and an accurate price.

    1. Have everyone who decides there. If a spouse, partner or family member will help make the call, plan the visit for a time they can join. You'll ask your questions together and won't need a second visit.
    2. Know your must-haves. Write down what has to change, and what would just be nice.
    3. Collect a few photos. Screenshots of rooms you like help the representative understand your style in minutes.
    4. Have a budget range in mind. Our pricing guides give typical 2026 costs for bathrooms and kitchens. A range helps the company show options that fit.
    5. Know your timeline. When would you like to start, and is there a date it needs to be finished by?
    6. Clear the space. Make sure the room and any access points are easy to see and measure.
    7. List your questions. Warranty, timeline, who does the work and what's included are good places to start.
    8. Look up the company. Check their reviews and how long they've been in business. If you booked through Renolist, we send you those before the visit.
